Delete your DonateMate account
Request permanent deletion of your DonateMate account and associated data, or delete some of your data and keep your account.
How to delete your account
In the app
Menu > Settings > Account Security > Delete Account.
Verify it’s you if asked, type DELETE, and tap Permanently Delete Account.
Without the app
Use the request form on this page, or email support@donate-mate.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account".
We will respond within 30 days, or within the period allowed by the law that applies to you.
What happens next
Waiting period
Deletion is scheduled with a short waiting period. You can cancel by signing in to the app before it ends. After that, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in, profile, and contact details
- Receipts and documents
- Your tax profile and goals
- Posts, comments, and followers
Your donation records are de-identified, so they are no longer linked to you.
What may be kept
- De-identified donation records, which tax record-keeping rules require us to keep for up to seven years
- Limited records we are required to keep by law or need to prevent fraud and abuse
- Backup copies, for a limited time until they are overwritten
Delete some of your data without deleting your account
You can delete individual items in the app at any time and keep your account: a donation, a receipt or document attached to a donation, a goal, a post, a comment, or your profile photo. Deleting an item removes it from your account.
To have the usage analytics data linked to your account deleted while keeping your account, email support@donate-mate.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my analytics data". We will respond within 30 days, or within the period allowed by the law that applies to you.
Request deletion
We email a confirmation link to the address you enter. Nothing is deleted until you open it and confirm.
